Welcome to the Women and Minorities in Computer Science Program (WMCSP) at Virginia Tech University. Diversity is an important component of success, and therefore this program is dedicated towards maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment for all of our students. Excellence through variety is the goal of this program, and we are committed to recruiting and retaining women and minorities who are traditionally underrepresented in this field. Our activities are targeted at all populations, thus providing opportunities for our students to develop interests that will help prepare them for future computer fields. We are building a strong community within the school of Computer Science that embraces the creative ideas that minority groups can contribute to engineering research and projects. In doing so, we come closer to the goal of finding the best solutions to global challenges.
